Letter: Likes day for prayer

Dear Editor,

Thursday is the National Day of Prayer. For those of us who look forward to this day with more than just a slight acknowledgement in our head, the Hudson Ministerial Association did not see the importance of planning the event this year. I would urge you to contact members and ask them why.

This event is not able to be held in all countries around the world. Christians must take advantage of every opportunity to pray, especially with other believers. Prayer is our first line of defense. Ephesians 6:18 says that we are to be "praying always with prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints."

Thankfully two churches in Hudson are standing in the gap. Harvestime Outreach Church and Christ Center Assembly of God will hold a prayer service this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Christ Center Assembly of God on Jacobs Lane off County UU.

Come into the presence of God as we pray for our government, our churches, our military, our families, education, the media and businesses.
