Letter: Disliked graduation

Dear Editor,

I would like to express my disappointment in this year's Hudson High School graduation. I am a graduate of the class of 2009 from Hudson and this year my little brother graduated. When I graduated high school we had our ceremony outside just like this year. If weather was to get bad each student had four tickets for the gymnasium ceremony.

I recently started traveling for work and was out of town the weekend of the ceremony. I was able to come back to watch him get his diploma and was going to surprise him. When I got to Newton Field I was told I was not allowed to sit with my parents and grandparents because I did not have a ticket to sit in the main bleachers. I am totally upset and disgusted with the changes that have been made since Mr. Lucas left and Principal Love started.

I drove four and a half hours to come home for the day to watch my little brother walk across the stage and get his diploma. Instead of being able to sit with my family I had to sit in the grass. There was plenty of seating still available and should be available on a first come first serve basis. This having to have a ticket is nonsense.

Whoever came up with the idea of having to have a ticket for outdoor seating should be ashamed of themselves. This is just as bad as charging family and friends to watch the Grand March for Prom. Since Mr. Lucas has left Hudson High School it has been going down the drain. The teachers are still magnificent but the principal we could do without.

I do completely understand the use of tickets for if the ceremony needs to be moved indoors because seating is limited, but to have that at an outdoor ceremony is completely absurd.
