Enjoy New England dinner
Roberts Congregational United Church of Christ will serve a family style dinner from noon-4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18. A bazaar featuring home-baked goods, pumpkins and crafts will also be held.
Dinner is $10 for adults and $4 for children ages 6-10. Children under five are free.
The church is located at 1001 Birch Drive, (Hwys. 12 and 65 North) Roberts.
Piano concert at UW-RF
The St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra will feature Tony Capparelli, a senior at the River Falls High School, in the Mendelssohn Piano Concert No. 1 in G minor on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall of the Kleinpell Fine Arts building on campus.
Other selections include "Carmen Suite No. 1" by Georges Bizet, "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral" by Richard Wagner, "Fiddle-Faddle" by Leroy Anderson and Johann Strauss Jr.'s "Vienna Blood Waltz."
UW-RF music Professor Kristin Tjornehoj is the director of the 65-member orchestra, which is comprised of students and adult community members.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for UWRF students.

Center has military history
The New Richmond Heritage Center will hold its annual fall program at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18 at the pavilion and features stories of New Richmond's military and other service organizations.
On display is an exhibit titled: Private Soldiers: A Year in Iraq with a Wisconsin National Guard Unit.
The program is free. Refreshments will be served.

Chicago guitarist Jim Green, who performs as The Wandering Endorphin, will play at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 at the Hazelnut Tree, 860 Main St., Baldwin.
Green has been named "One of the best independent artists in the Midwest" by the Editors of Billboard Magazine. His music can be heard on National Public Radio.
Space presents "A Night of Laughs"
7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16 and 17 at the Space, 156 High Street, New Richmond. Tickets for the three short comedies are $15.

Area novelist Jay Gilbertson, author of the popular "Madeline Island' series, will be at the River Falls Public Library on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. Gilbertson will do a short reading from his latest book, also set in this well-know resort town, which will be coming out in early November.
The program is free and refreshments will be served. The library is located at 140 Union St., River Falls.

HHS presents 'Beauty'
The Hudson High School music department will present the Disney version of "Beauty and The Beast" two weekends in November. Tickets go on sale Monday.
Performances will be Nov. 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. Matinees are 2 p.m. on Nov. 14, 15, 21 and 22.
