It has been less than a year since Grace Place moved from the former St. Anne’s convent in Somerset to much larger quarters in the a former nursing home in New Richmond. In this photo from the Historical Society’s collection, John Moffat Hughes is seated at the piano with his three children. From left are, daughter Mary, son John Ingram, and daughter, Margaret “Betty” Hughes. The children all were born in the Octagon House and were the fourth (and final) generation of the Moffat/Hughes family to grow up in the house.
