Talk by Tasha Schuh will highlight luncheon
Inspirational speaker Tasha Schuh of Ellsworth will be addressing the St. Croix Valley Girls 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Citizens State Bank, 375 Stageline Road, Hudson.
She will speak about how her life went from budding actress to struggling quadriplegic with just one step.
After showcasing her talent as the lead in the Ellsworth High School's production of Grease, Tasha began to dream of a career in the theater. But just days before her opening night performance in The Wizard of Oz, 16-year-old Tasha took one step backward and fell 16 feet through a trap door. On that day, Nov.11, 1997, she landed on the concrete floor of the historic Sheldon Theater, breaking her neck, crushing her spinal cord, and fracturing her skull. She would never walk again.
From loss and grief to self-discovery and achievement, Tasha's faith, resilience, and honesty have brought her on an unbelievable journey. Tascha recently released her book, "My Last Step Backward," and it will be available for purchase at the event.
A bit of Louisiana creole cuisine will heat things up at the luncheon. Diane Ruona of Antoine's Creole Maison Restaurant will showcase her talents with a Cajun andouille sausage po'boy sandwich smothered in sautéed onion and peppers, chips and desert.
Every woman is welcome! RSVP to Jill at 715-441-1001 or Jill. Cost is $15.
