Curves moves and improves customer services
Curves is celebrating 10 years in Hudson. Dar Goulett, who recently purchased the Hudson franchise, is a believer. She is the third owner of the business and has owned a Curves franchise in a different location.
Goulett, a River Falls native, is excited about the new program Curves is offering its clients.
CurvesSmart allows clients to track their progress over time and at each station.
The Curves concept, for women only, provides a 30-minute workout at 13 stations. The stations are hydraulic so you create your own workout based on your abilities. Between each station is a recovery board, on which you can walk or run in place or do the recommended exercises before moving on to the next station.
CurvesSmart provides each client with a keyfob which can be inserted at each station. It records and gives immediate feedback about the client's progress and level of exercise.
"You can be as active as you want," said Goulett whose clients range in age from teens to octogenarians. "I like the 30-minute routine. It is fast, fun and user-friendly for all ages."
From the beginning Curves has had the philosophy that short bursts of work are more beneficial and now the research supports that, according to Goulett. Everyone who works at Curves is certified in CPR.
Curves in Hudson, now at 1615 Maxwell Drive, Suite 3, next to Dough Boy's Pizza, is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m.to 12:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. It is closed on Sundays.
"There is no schedule, you and come and go as you please," said Goulett. "The theme, no make-up, no mirrors and no men make it a special place for women to work out."
On Nov. 15 and 16, Goulett is offering discounts for people who sign up. The open house hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day. The Curves program is eligible for health insurance reimbursements and participants in the Silver Sneakers program are free.
Also offered is a line of vitamins and supplements and weight management classes. For more information, call (715) 386-2711.
