Nationally known vocalist Jearlyn Steele, a regular on Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion Show, will be the special musical guest at Bethel Lutheran Church's Highlands campus at the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Jan. 13, along with the Bethel Chorale and Bethel's New Song Band. The service will celebrate the life, ministry and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the church, the country and the world.

Steele has been an entertainment reporter for Twin Cities Public Television's Almanac and motivational speaker/facilitator, while maintaining her Sunday night radio show on WCCO Radio 830AM for more than 14 years.

She has recorded a duet with Prince, and has performed with the Minnesota Symphony and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras. She can sometimes be found as a special guest on the acclaimed radio broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion where she has performed with music greats Carol King and Elvis Costello.

Steele is the mother of two college graduates who have encouraged her to go back to school. In 2011, she graduated from Concordia University St. Paul majoring in organizational management and leadership.
