Holy Yoga, the leader in Christ-Centered Yoga classes and teacher education programs, will hold an introductory Holy Yoga workshop in Hudson at Bethel Highlands Lutheran Church at 504 Frontage Road. on Mondays, Sept. 10, 17, and 24 at 7 p.m., and Thursdays, Sept. 13, 20, and 27 at 6 p.m.

The St. Croix Valley Holy Yoga introductory workshop consists of three one hour classes. The first two classes consist of detailed instruction and the third class will be a one hour Holy Yoga gentle class. The workshops are designed to provide students an opportunity to connect with God, information on the benefits of yoga and yoga terminology, Holy Yoga philosophy, breath work, scripture meditation, in depth instruction of the primary poses, and experiential worship through a Gentle Holy Yoga class.

The workshops will be led by Maria Paulsen on Mondays and Katie Fredrickson on Thursdays. Maria earned her certification as a Registered Holy Yoga Instructor in June 2010. She says, "I had never tried yoga before, and after attending my first class, I was hooked. I fell in love with the yoga, of course, but even more, I fell in love with my Maker! I am a firm believer in experiential worship, and Holy Yoga is exactly that! I am literally on my knees bowing humbly before the Lord every time I practice."

Katie earned her certification as a Registered Holy Yoga Instructor in May 2011. She explains that "time on my mat has allowed me to connect intimately with a God that is alive and worthy of our praise. I want others to experience the intimacy of Holy Yoga and fall in love with it as much as I have."

Advance registration is suggested, but not required. A $20 donation is suggested and includes all three classes. For more information or to register in advance, contact Maria Paulsen at

"Holy Yoga is a physical practice of aligning the body combined with breath work and mindful intention of reliance on God," said Brooke Boon, founder of Holy Yoga. "The series is designed to introduce students to this amazing practice and facilitate the worship and celebration of God through movement, biblical meditation, and fellowship."

Holy Yoga classes are offered in Hudson at Bethel Highlands Lutheran Church throughout the entire year on Mondays 7-8:15 p.m., Thursdays 6-7:15 p.m., and Saturdays 8-9:15 a.m. There is a $10 suggested donation and no registration is required.
