Water births

A free informational meeting for parents who are expecting a baby and are considering a water birth is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, at Pathways Chiropractic in Hudson. The St. Croix County Department of Public Health is holding immunization clinics at its office in New Richmond, 1445 N. Fourth St., from noon-4 p.m. Monday, May 4, 11 (noon-5 p.m.) and 18. Various vaccines are available. Hepatitis B for adults must be pre-ordered; call (715) 246-8330.

Health Improvement Process

The St. Croix County Community Health Improvement Process Committee is asking county residents to voice their views and opinions by responding to a community health needs assessment. Some homes will receive the assessment, which is also available in county libraries, hospitals and public health offices beginning next week. The surveys should be returned by May 18.     Yoga classes with instructor Renee Lindquist:

The following American Heart Association classes are $10/person including materials. Includes basic techniques of adult, child and infant CPR, first aid for choking, and how to use an automated external defibrillator.

  • Heartsaver CPR & AED (May 2, 13 and 28, times vary). Certification provided.
  • Family and Friends CPR (May 19, 6:30-9 p.m.). No certification.
  • Heartsaver CPR for Teens (June 17, 27, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.). For middle and high school students seeking certification. Groups of friends welcome.
