Kelly at 19th, Stricker 33rd after first round of Masters
Jerry Kelly of Madison is tied for 19th after the first round of the Masters golf tournament.
He recovered from a pair of early bogies to finish his first round at even-par 72 - the same score as Tiger Woods. Kelly had three birdies on the back nine to return to even.
He said he'd love to be under par, but he was proud of the way he came back. Kelly tied for fifth at the Masters a year ago, his best finish in a major.
Meanwhile, Steve Stricker of Madison shot a one-over-par 73 Thursday. He was two-under after seven holes, but Stricker took a double-bogey on number-eight, after getting an unplayable lie.
He's tied for 33rd at the moment.
