Former head of U.S. Farm Service Agency will be new president of Wisconsin Farmers Union
A former head of the U.S. Farm Service Agency will become the new president of the Wisconsin Farmers Union.
Doug Caruso was chosen by the group's board to replace Sue Carlson, who recently got married and is moving to Jamestown, N.D.
Caruso will be the full-time chief executive for the Farmers' Union, after Carlson served in the post for six years.
He's been with the group before, as the CEO of the Wisconsin Farmers' Specialty Cheese Co., from 2003 until earlier this year when he took the federal job.
But he had differences of opinion over how the Farm Service Agency should be run. So he resigned in July and returned to the state.
