Traffic on Second Street was blocked Tuesday afternoon when a southbound truck hauling an asphalt roller hit the railroad overpass just north of Lake Mallalieu. The incident occurred about 12:45 p.m. The jar from hitting the bridge knocked the roller off the truck. Initially the road was reduced to one lane, however, it closed totally at about 1:10 p.m. Jerry’s Towing was called in to remove the vehicle from the street. The street remained closed between Hudson and North Hudson until about 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Officals from Union Pacific Railroad were on the scene to inspect the railraod overpass.
