Houlton man arrested in Hudson early Monday for fifth OWI

Anthony Wicklace, 39, of Houlton was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol early Monday morning in Hudson for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 5th offense.

At approximately 12:31 a.m. a Wisconsin State Trooper conducted a traffic stop in the McDonalds parking lot in Hudson on a vehicle that had been traveling 96 miles-per-hour on I-94. The Trooper detected a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle and driver. After subsequent field sobriety tests, Wicklace was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated - 5th offense.

Other pending charges include: speeding, operating with open intoxicant, seatbelt violation, operating after revocation and operating in violation of I.I.D. (Ignition Interlock Device) driver license restriction from previous OWI convictions.

Wicklace was taken to the Hudson Hospital for a blood draw and then taken to the St. Croix County Jail. The Hudson Police Department assisted at the scene and with the transport of Wicklace.
