The Hudson Police Department Thursday night arrested a Minnesota man suspected in at least two armed robberies in Hudson and one in New Richmond.

Arrested was Anthony Partee from Oakdale, Minn. He was arrested on a felony warrant out of Minnesota and on suspicion of the city of Hudson robberies – one at the Check ‘n Go on Jan. 8 and the Super 8 on Jan. 21.

At 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5 employees at the Hudson Cash Store, 2107 Coulee Rd., called 911 stating a man in the store was acting suspiciously, as if “casing” the business. The employee told the dispatcher that the man appeared to match the description of a suspect that had robbed the Cash Store in New Richmond a few weeks ago. The man left the store and was not located by the responding officers.

On Thursday, March 6 surveillance near the Cash Store spotted a minivan, with the potential suspect, enter the parking lot at about 6:35 p.m. The van matched the description of one used in a robbery on Feb. 5 in Lakeville, Minn. In Lakeville, a witness had gotten a partial license plate. The van left the Cash Store lot and went the area of Plaza 94. When police followed the van, they learned that it belonged to Partee, who had a warrant for his arrest out of Minnesota.

Officers conducted a felony stop on took Partee into custody. A later search of the van produced evidence connected to the earlier Hudson robberies and others in the region. Partee is currently being held on the Minnesota warrant; charges are expected soon in connection to the robberies in St. Croix County. See the March 13 Star-Observer for more details.
