River Crest Elementary School hosted a Veterans Appreciation Service Friday afternoon to honor those who have served ahead of Veterans’ Day on Nov. 11.

The service included a ceremony and reception, with about a hundred veterans recognized during the event.

River Crest teacher Corey O’Keefe spoke about his service in the military as the main speaker. The event also featured a video message from First Lieutenant Kevin Graving who is stationed at Camp Pendleton in California, student speeches from Olivia LeBlanc, Anna Paulson and Isabella Marquardt, and songs by student classes.
