Afton company relocating to St. Croix Business Park

Construction of a corporate headquarters and office building for Resource Logistics Inc. is under way in St. Croix Business Park.

The footings and most of the foundation for the 13,500-square-foot building were already in when a ceremonial groundbreaking was held last Friday. The building is scheduled for completion sometime in March.

Company president Dan Lodge said the transportation logistics company has outgrown its current office in Afton, Minn.

St. Croix Business Park is an attractive place to relocate to, Lodge said, because of the amount of business development taking place in Hudson.

"It's a good busainess environment," he said, adding that Hudson's proximity to the Twin Cities also was a factor in the move.

Resource Logistics arranges trucking services for manufacturers. The company doesn't have any trucks of its own, but provides services by subcontracting with trucking firms, according to Lodge.

The company's 12 employees will work at the Hudson office when it is completed.

Lodge said Resource Logistics will occupy the rear quarter of the building and lease the remaining space to professionals in need of offices. He said the offices could be built to suit the renter.

Elliot Architects of Hudson designed the steel-frame, block and brick building. The rock-face veneer exterior of the building will be similar in appearance to most of the buildings in the business park, Lodge said.

Keller Corp. is the general contractor for the project. The company, headed by Ron and Bob Keller, relocated to St. Croix Business Park from Lakeland, Minn., earlier this year.

The Resource Logistics building is on the east side of O'Neil Road between the Hudson Gymnastics and Promotional Systems Group buildings.
