Valley Services ready to meet maintenance needs and more

If you drive by the corner of Fourth and Vine Street you may be confused, wondering if the longtime Hudson business Valley Heating and Air Conditioning is still in existence.

Mike Babler bought the service part of the company in September.

The new company, Valley Services, is a heating and air conditioning contractor for residential and light commercial business.

"We are more on the residential service and replacement end," said Babler. "That is our niche." Babler was the service and sales manager for four years before taking the leap into ownership.

"I want people to know we are still in business and we have some of the same folks working for us," said Babler. "Our biggest fear was that people were not going to call." However, over 700 new customers called during the winter months.

The industry has changed over the last few years. During the home-building boom in Hudson, contractors from the Twin Cities did most of the installed most of the heating/air conditioning units, leaving the emergency response and maintenance work to local firms like Valley Services.

Valley Services offers both residential and commercial maintenance agreements and serves as a dealer for Lenox, Armstrong and Gibson products.

"Air quality has become a big issue," said Babler, who carries an air filtration system for those who want it.

As the company grows, the ultimate goal is to offer 24-hour service.

"We are moving in that direction," said Babler. "Offering some type of extra service is important to our customers."
