Local bank robbed Friday afternoon

The armed man who robbed the First National Bank Crest View branch Friday afternoon first took time to do a little shopping at the nearby Wal-Mart.

Around 5 p.m. the man entered the bank, presented a demand note to a teller and displayed a handgun. A witness to the robbery saw the man exit the bank, cross the parking lot, cut behind the Citizens bank next door and head toward the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Hudson Police Department detective Shawn Pettee said Tuesday that with that information they reviewed Wal-Mart's parking lot surveillance tape for the time around the robbery and located the robbery suspect on camera along with his vehicle. Pettee said they then reviewed the tapes of the time period before the robbery and discovered the same man entering the store accompanied by a woman.

The man is described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s, clean shaven, having dark, collar-length hair, approximately 6 feet, 220 pounds with dark eyes. The woman, who appears to be with the man as he entered the store, appears to be in her mid-to-late 20s, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a heavy build, and long auburn-colored hair pulled back into a pony tail.

The subjects left in a light-colored SUV, possibly a two-door Ford Explorer. An undisclosed amount of money was taken. There were no injuries.

The robbery is being investigated by the FBI in conjunction with the Hudson Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hudson Police Department at (715) 386-4771.
