Fund raiser set for St. Croix Animal Friends March 29

Set aside March 29 if you want to have some fun for a good cause. The St. Croix Animal Friends is hosting a Blast from the Past, a dinner dance at The Valley House, 221, 125th Ave and Hwy 35, with the social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event will include a buffet dinner, silent auction, prize drawings, dance contests and DJ music from the '50's, '60's and rock and roll by KMZ.

The 5013C non-profit organization was founded in December of 2005. One of the long term goals for St. Croix Animal Friends is to build and staff an animal shelter in St. Croix County. At the present time there is no shelter operating in either St. Croix or Pierce Counties.

"St. Croix County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state and region," said Sharon Elliott, president of Saint Croix Animal Friends. "We need to care for the animals in our county."

The funds raised from the Blast from the Past will go to the shelter fund.

Tickets are $25 dollars for the entire evening or $10 for just the dance. They must be purchased in advance from Angel's Pet World in Hudson, The Valley House or by calling Diana Neubarth at 386-4004. Or you may visit their website for details and to purchase a ticket.

The mission of Saint Croix Animal Friends is to offer a safe refuge, nourishment and opportunity for a better life to unwanted, abused or injured animals; to promote responsible pet ownership through humane education and spay/neuter programs in the area; to work to unite lost animals with owners and place unwanted animals in caring homes; to build communication and community support so people will value animals and treat them with respect and kindness; to provide care and respect through the life and death of the animal using qualified veterinary professionals.
