John McCain to be in Hudson Friday
Sen. John McCain, Republican presidential nominee, plans to wrap up a week of economic talk with a Friday forum in Hudson.
According to the campaign, McCain, accompanied by his wife Cindy, will hold one of his town hall meetings for "women only" at J&L Steel Erectors in the St. Croix Business Park at 10 a.m. The doors open at 8:30 a.m. and close 9:30 a.m. His topic for the meeting will be women in business and economic issues affecting them.
Women interested in attending must contact Nancy Nasvik, co-chairman of the St. Croix County Republicans by 3 p.m. Tuesday with their name address or phone number at 715-386-2928 or via email firstname.lastname@example.org. The event is open to 500 people.
This is McCain's first visit to western Wisconsin.
The Arizona senator also may be involved in a Twin Cities event, but campaign officials said that had not been decided.
The Hudson visit concludes a week of McCain campaign appearances dealing with the economy. Other stops this week include such battleground states as Pennsylvania, Michigan, Virginia and Ohio. Wisconsin and Minnesota both also are expected to be battleground states, and the Hudson appearance will provide media coverage in both states.
It will be McCain's third Wisconsin stop since he became his party's presumptive nominee.
McCain was in St. Paul last month, when he hosted a town hall meeting of undecided voters.
There was no word if while he is in the area whether he would talk to Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, a national co-chairman of the McCain campaign, about his much-rumored vice presidential chances.
