Konrad Wagner, 89
Konrad Wagner, 89, of North Hudson, formerly of Brookfield, passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Baldwin Care Center.
He was born the son of Leonard and Anna (Geisth) Wagner on Feb. 9, 1919, in Ladislaus, Hungary.
On April 13, 1939, Konrad was united in marriage to the love of his life, Anna Silber. They immigrated to the United States in 1949, spending their first years in Milwaukee. They lived in Brookfield until 1995. Konrad worked as a carpenter on commercial buildings for many companies.
He enjoyed playing soccer as a young man, had a lifelong love of driving and cars, and was a Packer fan. Konrad had a good soul; he was a quiet and friendly man who was faithfully devoted to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph.
Konrad is survived by his wife of 69 years, Anna; daughter, Lisa Becker, and former son-in-law Kevin Becker, of River Falls; granddaughters, Sierra, 15, Olivia, 11, and Leanna, 8; former sister-in-law, Magdeline Gommerman; nieces, Katherine and Rosemary; extended family and friends, especially Joseph and Anna Plakinger.
A Mass of Christian Burial was at 11:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hudson.
Interment was in St. Patrick's Parish Cemetery.
Services were entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
