Organist plays pops at Phipps
Jelani Eddington, the American Theatre Organ Society's 2001 Organist of the Year, will present a program of popular songs from the 1930s to the '80s by composers George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Leroy Anderson and others at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at The Phipps Center for the Arts.
Eddington will also play several solo works for piano. He recently appeared as a guest pianist for performances of Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A-Minor, George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," and Leroy Anderson's Piano Concerto in C-Major.
Eddington, a graduate of Indiana University and Yale Law School, is admitted to practice law in New York State.
