The second annual Luke Zietlow Charity Bowl was Sunday, Feb. 15, and brought in over $700 for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. The event, held at the Hudson Bowling Center, attracted over 120 bowlers.

Luke died in a car accident in November 2007 at age 15. This year's theme was "Buckle Up 4 Luke" and was created by his sisters Britta Zietlow and Brianna Elliott. Window stickers and T-shirts were sold to help spread the word on wearing seatbelts.

The winner of this year's Hot Dog Award was Hudsonite Jamie Johnson, and this year's Tail End Award went to one of Luke's classmate's, Megan Claflin of North Hudson. These traveling awards find a new keeper each year.

"The day is very humbling," said Lori Elliott, Luke's mother. "It is an absolute honor to Luke and a wonderful tribute to friendship. We are blessed to have so many neat kids and families in our community. They make it a great place to live and appreciate!"
