The Hudson community is invited to attend a concert in the Hudson High School auditorium at 7 p.m. Friday, May 1. The Family Center Worship Team from Trinity Lutheran Church is titling the event "Powerful Praise in Tough Times."

"Our intent is to encourage people through our music," said Cheri Buelow, director of family ministries and leader of the worship team. "Music has a way of healing a burdened heart. People in this community are facing huge challenges -- job loss, mounting debt, cancer, divorce, deployment, addiction...the list goes on and on. We want to invite the community to come and listen...listen to the words of the songs which are full of hope."

Twenty musicians volunteer in the Family Center Worship Team, leading contemporary worship at Trinity Family Center. "This is an eclectic group of people - teachers, 3M-ers, college students, business professionals, etc. We have grown very close over the past seven years. We're a family," said Buelow.

The concert will include an invitation to young children to join the band on stage for a song. Children will also get May baskets.

Cost is $5 per person, $10 per family. Tickets are available at the door or in advance, (715) 381-1414. "If the cost is something you can't afford because of the economy, contact me (381-1414) for a free ticket," said Buelow. "We won't turn anyone away. This concert is for you, Hudson! We love our city and its people."
