Packer Tailgate Tour coming to Hudson

The Hudson Boosters are sponsoring a Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour in Hudson Tuesday, May 12.

A variety of activities is planned for the tour, which will include Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy, 2008 Pro Bowl selection safety Nick Collins, wide receiver Jordy Nelson and linebacker Brady Poppinga.

Hudson is one of four cities on the tour; other stops on the May 11-14 event are Marshfield, Platteville and Beaver Dam. Although tickets are sold out to the official Tailgate party events, the public is welcome to come to Lakefront Park and partake of many events and hear the Packers speak from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at the band shell. Booster festivities begin in the park at 5 p.m. Events sponsored by downtown merchants begin at 2 p.m.

The tour will take place aboard a customized motor coach emblazoned with the logo "Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour" and the phrase "Touching Down in Your Community."

Culminating the day's activities during the tour will be an evening tailgate party from 6 to 8:30 p.m., with a flavor of famous Lambeau Field tailgating, hosted by a local non-profit organization - locally it's the Hudson Boosters. The parties will feature food and mingling with Packers representatives. At each tailgate party, footballs autographed by each tour member will be given away as door prizes.

Tickets for the Hudson event are already sold out, but there will also be activities available for non-ticket holders. Ticket sales were limited to 650 tickets and sold out the first day they were offered for sale, March 16. All of the proceeds will benefit the hosting organization, the Hudson Boosters.
