Fairplex project moves up in Pepsi voting
The Friends of the St. Croix County Fairplex is thanking those who have supported the Pepsi Refresh Project Idea "Build 1st Dairy Barn at the St. Croix County Fairplex."
Since voting began, the local project has moved from 193rd to 73th as of Thursday morning. To be considered for a grant, the Fairplex needs to move to the top 10 in the $50,000 category. People can vote every day through Jan. 31.
There has been some confusion in making sure votes count. You enter the website at refresheverything.com and use the keyword "fairplex" to find the dairy barn project. You click on "vote" to register and, once registered, you need to click on "vote" a second time to actually vote. Once you have voted, the counter, which starts at 10, will count down one point. Visit www.stcroixcountyfair plex.com for information on the project and details on the contest rules.
In other news, The St. Croix County Dairy Committee and the Friends of the St. Croix County Fairplex are in the early stages of planning this year's May Fair Event & Sale. Last year's event was very successful raising $30,000 above expenses thanks to the generosity of donors and buyers.
According to Chris Libbey, Friends of the Fairplex, and Terry Mitchell of the County 4-H Dairy Committee, "this year's event will be even bigger and better combining great entertainment, food and the excitement of a sale - truly offering something for everyone."
The planned date of the Event will be Saturday evening, May 7.
