Brewers faltering on West Coast trip

The Dodgers scored four times in the first inning, highlighted by Russell Martin's three-run double. He tied a career-high with four RBI's on the night.

The Brewers were only 2 for 9 with runners in scoring position. Bill Hall had a double and a RBI single as the Dodgers out-hit Milwaukee 12-8.

The Brewers have now scored three-runs or less in eight of their last 13 games.

Brad Penny threw seven scoreless innings to get the win. He's 6-1.

Chris Capuano lasted four innings, losing his third straight and is now 4-3.

Things got interesting in the fifth when Carlos Villanueva threw a pitch over Martin's head right after he had a home run called back because it was barely foul.

As Martin walked, Dodgers' first base coach Mariano Duncan started arguing with somebody in the Brewers' dug-out. Prince Fielder stepped in front of him, and both benches emptied.

The Brewers lost their fourth straight series, winning just four of their last 13.

But they still have a 6.5 game lead in the National League Central, because others in the division are also faltering.

St. Louis was the only one to win Tuesday night.

Milwaukee is off Thursday and will open a weekend series at San Diego Friday night.
