Help has arrived for those of you who are searching for a specific battery or light bulb. Monday, Oct. 28, Batteries Plus Bulbs opened and it didn’t take long for the word to spread.

According to its website, Batteries Plus Bulbs was founded in 1988 as Batteries Plus with the first store opening in Green Bay. Today Batteries Plus Bulbs has more than 580 locations in 46 states and Puerto Rico.

The store is divided. Half of it features batteries for everything from watch batteries to heavy duty truck batteries. A list includes car, boat, truck, marine, lawn-garden, cordless tool, laptop, cellphone, digital camera as well as gel, deep cycle and sealed lead acid batteries.

There are also free testing stations to determine if your battery is good, whether it is a laptop or car battery.

Another highlight is the Tech Center, where customer can have battery packs custom built.

“It is cheaper to rebuild a pack then to buy a new one,” said Dean Caranicas, district operations manager for Batteries Plus Bulbs.

On the light bulb side, displays and information give consumers choices in addition to an amazing selection. From the trendy LED lights to incandescent, CFL, halogen, metal halide and high pressure sodium lamps, all are stocked on the bulb side of Batteries Plus Bulbs.

If you happen to stop in you will also find a wide selection of flashlights, charging systems and a variety of gadgets to make life easier.

In addition to helping individuals, Batteries Plus Bulbs offers free delivery to commercial sales, large volume customers and free energy surveys for businesses.

“We want you to bring your trouble to us,” said Caranicas. It is worth a stop at Batteries Plus Bulbs to check out how their lighting displays show the difference in hue and energy use.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
