Spring Valley couple convicted in Hudson thefts
A Spring Valley, Wisconsin couple has been convicted in connection with the theft of flat screen televisions from a Hudson freight carrier.
Jamie L. Wittmer, 35, entered a deferred judgment agreement on a felony receiving stolen property charge and pleaded no contest in two counts of misdemeanor theft Wednesday, May 9.
She was sentenced to 120 days in jail, with 90 days stayed, 80 hours of community service and probation for two years. She was also fined $693.
Kerry Kevin Wittmer, 36, pleaded no contest to one count of felony theft. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set a sentencing hearing for July 2. The state will recommend two years in prison, according to court records.
The criminal complaint said Kerry Wittmer was involved with the theft of flat screen TVs while employed as dock supervisor at Valley Cartage in Hudson and Jaime Wittmer aided her husband as the driver who hauled away the merchandise.
Hudson police were called to Valley Cartage Dec. 20, 2010, when an employee reported six Samsung flat screen television valued at $5,500 went missing from a pallet between 11 p.m. and 2:32 a.m.
