Metro man accused of attempting to run over women with his car

An altercation between a man, his girlfriend and two other women at the I-94 westbound on ramp at 14th Street Sunday evening, July 27, may lead to criminal charges.

According to Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen, the man and his companions were leaving a liquor store on the hill when an argument about the man’s driving broke out. As the vehicle went onto the ramp at 14th Street, he stopped the vehicle, and ordered them out of the car, leaving them on the side of the freeway.

According to the women it was only minutes later that the man came back onto the ramp and allegedly charged them with his car. The man jumped out of the vehicle and pursued the women as they scrambled away and ran into bushes along the side of the freeway.

The man sped off westbound on I-94 but was later picked up by Minnesota State Patrol as he was attempting to push his disabled vehicle off the freeway at White Bear Avenue. He was taken into custody.

The case has been referred to the St. Croix County District Attorney’s office.
