Middle school presents holiday choral concert

Five Hudson Middle School choirs will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, in the auditorium at Hudson High School, 1501 Vine St.

Carol Dahle will direct the Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Grade choirs as well as the Eighth Grade Men's Ensemble and the Béne Vóce Singers, an eighth-grade women's ensemble.

Accompanists are LeAnn Stein and Deb McPhetres.

The Sixth Grade Choir will open the concert with an arrangement of "Candle in Your Heart," by Jerry Estes, followed by two pieces from the movie "How the Grinch Stole Christmas": "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" and "Where Are You, Christmas?" arranged by Mac Huff. Soloists are Kia Feia, Katie Law-Gotich and Jameson Krause.

The Seventh Grade Choir performs next, with the medley of carols "On A Winter's Night" and "Lo, On This Silent Night," both arranged by Audrey Snyder. Soloists in the next piece, "Christmas Is," are Cally Ahlin, Jordan Stewart, Maddie Moen and Erin Coyer.

The Eighth Grade Men's Ensemble will sing "Alleluia," by Mark Wilson, followed by the "Béne Vóce Singers" performing a French carol, "Bring A Torch, Jeanette, Isabella," arranged by Cristi Cary Miller.

The Eighth Grade Choir will conclude the program, opening with the humorous "Christmas in the Tropics," by Joyce Eilers Bacak. Their other pieces are "A la nanita nana," a Mexican folk song arranged by David Eddleman, and "It's the Holiday Season," a medley of seasonal carols arranged by Roger Emerson.
