Bakken Road house struck by lightning
A lightning strike damaged the basement, caused electrical issues and ruptured a gas line Monday night at a Bakken Road home.
The owner, listed on St. Croix County property records as Mary L. Larson, was the only person in the house and no injuries occurred as a result of the strike, reported at 6:20 p.m. Aug. 27 at 970 Bakken Road.
Hudson Fire Department responded soon after the owner put out some of the fire with a garden hose, Fire Chief Scott St. Martin said. The house was without gas and some power but is still livable as of Aug. 28.
"It could have been much worse," St. Martin said.
