Unofficial election results -- Vanselow, Hoggatt win in city; incumbents win school board posts

Unofficial election results found incumbent Rich Vanselow and challenger John Hoggatt winning council seats in the city of Hudson.

Incumbent Vanselow defeated challenger Mary Claire (Olson) Potter 234-215. Challenger John Hoggatt defeated incumbent Scot O'Malley 182-179.

School Board

The Hudson Board of Education saw incumbents Dan Tjornehoj and Lynn Robson returned to office. The pair was elected over challenger James Kubiak. Tjornehoj garnered 2,711 votes, Robson 2,668 votes, while Kubiak finished third with 2,305 votes (The top two vote-getters were elected)

Town of St. Joseph

In some of the hottest races in the area, winners in the town of St. Joseph were:

Town Chair - Dan Gavin defeated Kevin Adkins 655-318.

Town Clerk-Treasurer - Mary Stanley defeated Joan Gerhan 638-297.

Supervisor 2 - Jim Traeger defeated Fred Meyers 465-458.

Town of Troy

Supervisor 1 - Sue Warren defeated Chuck Struemke 535-385.

Supreme court

The State Supreme Court is very close and the winner may not be determined until early Wednesday morning. Incumbent Justice David Prosser's held a slight lead over Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg in the early returns.

Two hours after polls closed, Prosser was leading 51 percent to 49 percent with 61 percent of the votes counted, according to the Associated Press.

In St. Croix County, Prosser defeated Kloppenburg 8,272-7,953.
