U.S. Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin to visit Hudson and River Falls on Friday

Tammy Baldwin, Democratic candidate for Wisconsin's open U.S. Senate seat, currently represents the state's 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House.

The St. Croix County Democratic Party has announced that U.S. Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin will pay a visit to their campaign in Hudson at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12.

Baldwin will appear with Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, according to the announcement on the party's Facebook page and website.

"They'll say hello and then make some calls," the Facebook post says.

The party is encouraging supporters to stop by and meet Baldwin.

The campaign office is located in the Hudson Professional Building (the former public library building) at 901 Fourth St.

Baldwin and Klobuchar also are scheduled to appear at the South Fork Café, 116 S. Main St., in River Falls at noon Friday. The announcement says they'll later stop by the Dish and Spoon Café, 208 N. Main St., in River Falls.

Baldwin is seeking the open U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Herb Kohl, D-Wisconsin.

Tommy Thompson, the governor of Wisconsin from 1987 to 2001 and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services from 2001 to 2005, is the Republican candidate for the position.
