Rep. Kind meets with President Obama
Congressman Ron Kind was one of five House Democrats who met with President Obama Thursday, March 4, on the health care reform package.
The five House members want to reward doctors and hospitals which provide the best quality by giving them higher reimbursements for treating Medicare patients.
Kind is part of the New Democrat Coalition in the House.
He says they want more of what he calls "payment reform."
The package approved by the Senate on Christmas Eve would reward doctors based on their quality of treatment, instead of just the volumes of procedures they perform.
Kind says he wants hospitals to get that same reward.
