Sing along with the "Hot Flashes" Aug. 13 in Hudson

Submitted photo.

The singing group, “The Hot Flashes” will be making its first appearance at Hudson’s Lakefront Park Bandshell on Tuesday, Aug. 13. These “seasoned” ladies will take to the stage at 7 p.m., as part of the summer “Music in the Park” season, sponsored by the City of Hudson.

“The Hot Flashes” hail from several Wisconsin and Minnesota communities surrounding Lake Pepin, and have been singing together for 5 years. Numbering between 18-20 singers, the group’s repertoire includes those favorite girl (& guy) group hits from the 50’s & ’60’s, some Swing Era tunes from the 20’s & 30’s, and even some folk & rock songs from the 70’s, 80’s, and beyond.

You’ll be singing along to such favorites as “Sentimental Journey”, “They Can’t Take That Away From Me”, “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”, “Don’t Say Nothin’ Bad About My Baby”, “Mustang Sally”, and many, many more.

Musical director and accompanist Dave Zahn is the multi-talented driver of this group, scoring and arranging the musical selections, and incorporating horns and percussion into many of the tunes. Examples of a few “Hot Flashes” performances can be viewed on their website:

Admission to the concert is free; bring your blankets, lawn chairs and picnic suppers to this beautiful park in downtown Hudson for an evening of song with the fabulous “Hot Flashes”, and don’t forget your dancing shoes!
