Pizza! Pizza! Little Caesars opens this week

Denise Lay and her husband, David (not pictured) are opening a Little Caesars Pizza shop in Hudson this week. It is located in at 1920 Crest View Drive, at the far western end of South Side Center in the former location of Stewart Anderson Hair Co.

Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m., David and Denise Lay opened their Little Caesars Pizza shop in Hudson. The couple is from Hammond and have been in business for 17 years. They own Toyriffic Video Games, with locations in Hudson, St. Croix Falls and Maplewood in Minnesota. “Technology has changed a lot and we realized that we needed to look into expanding into a different area,” said Denise. “Everybody has to eat and that is not going away.”

Their Maplewood store is across the street from a Little Caesars pizza shop.

“We could see the business volume they had and that was what got us to look into it,” said Denise. What they found was a franchise with history, a track record and a commitment to community. “It has been around since the 1950s and it has really come back in the last six years. Their marketing campaigns of Hot-N-Ready, the thirty second transaction and offering a large pizza (14 inch) for five dollars all helped.”

According to the Little Caesars website, it was founded by Michael and Marian Ilitch who took their life savings and opened a single pizza shop in a suburb of Detroit. The risk paid off and they grew from one pizza shop into an international pizza chain. Showing an uncommon business savvy they went on to own the Detroit Red Wings and many other businesses and real estate investments all in their hometown area of Detroit.

Little Caesars Pizza in Hudson is located on the west end of South Side Center, 1920 Crest View Drive. It is the former location of Stewart Anderson Hair Co. and prior to that is was the main entrance to the Hudson movie theatre.

The whole concept is based on fresh and fast pizza.

“We make our own dough and sauce fresh daily,” said Denise. “All our vegetables are fresh as well.”

The concept is straight forward. They offer no dine in, no delivery but fast service. You can walk in or drive by the pick-up window, which on the west side of the building.

Hot-N-Ready pizzas are available in either cheese or pepperoni. Recently they introduced the deep, deep dish with caramelized edges. Little Caesars offers quality and value at fast food speed.

Other favorites include crazy bread and chicken wings (in a host of flavors) and a new line up of salads.

Little Caesars Pizza is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; on Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Call (715) 808-8004 for more information or to order a custom pizza.
