Lois C. Sherpy, 86
Lois C. Sherpy, age 86 of River Falls and formerly of Ellsworth died on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, at Our House Senior Living in River Falls.
Lois was born May 16, 1931, in Plum City, Wis., to Henry and Noma (Parsons) Gilles. Lois attended Plum City schools and graduated from high school in 1949.
She married Duane Sherpy in 1950 and they were later divorced. Lois worked as a nurse's aide at the Plum City Hospital. She and Duane owned the D&L Center Bar in Plum City. Lois graduated from Eau Claire Vocational Technical School in 1977, and worked for the Pierce County Human Services Department until retiring in 2000. Lois then worked part-time at D&K Hinck's grocery store until the age of 80. Lois was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Ellsworth and an active member of the Ellsworth Senior Center.
Lois enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and bowling with her friends.
Lois is survived by three sons, Rudolph (Carol) of Milwaukee, Daniel of Faribault, Minn., and Ryan (Sherri) of Cottage Grove, Minn.; daughter Leigh (David) Weiss of River Falls; eight grandchildren, Jessica (David) Immel, Lisa Sherpy, Amanda and Mason Cross, Alison (Nicholas) Olk, Brad (Tanya) Weiss, Taylor and Melayna Sherpy; nine great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Immel, Dane and Vylette Hamilton, Natalie, Dylan and Madelyn Olk, Claire and Emily Weiss; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Frances Johnson and Vera Seipel; and two infant daughters.
Many thanks to Our House Senior Living and Interim Hospice staffs for their loving care of Lois. They gave strength, hope and comfort to Lois, which brought her family peace. We appreciate each of you who cared for Lois.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at St. Francis of Assisi church in Ellsworth, Wis. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
