Hudson's George Halunen (3) and Max Ball (2) pass River Falls' Will Bohnert as they approach the finish line of the boys' 1600 meter run at the 2016 Big Rivers Conference Track and Field Championships last Tuesday in River Falls. Halunen won the race with a time of 4 minutes, 36.37 seconds and Ball was second in 4:36.42 to help the Raider boys win their second BRC championship in the last three years. Nine-year-old Lillian Kirkpatrick struggles to hold steady a shotgun in the trap shooting competition at the Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club's annual Youth Day Saturday. Assisting Lillian is club member and volunteer Jeff Prescott. The annual event is open to youths who compete for prizes and trophies in three area – trap shooting, rifle shooting and archery.
