Hudson Area Lacrosse tops St. Paul 11-6

The Hudson Area Lacrosse Association's varsity boys' team pulled away during a rainy second half at St. Paul's McMurray Fields to post an 11-6 victory over the St. Paul Celts last Friday, May 4.

St. Paul scored first, but Hudson answered with two goals, one from Taren Motte and one from Luke Ousdigian, before St. Paul added a goal to end the first quarter tied 2-2.

Motte and Ousdigian each scored again in the second quarter, assisted by McKay Potter and Carter Bewley, respectively, and Hudson went into halftime with a 4-3 lead.

Hudson opened the second half with goals from Potter and Anthony Queener. St. Paul made it a 6-4 game before Hudson scored three goals -- two by Motte and one by Queener, to open a 9-4 lead at the end of the third quarter.

St. Paul scored twice early in the fourth quarter to cut Hudson's lead to 9-6, but goals by Potter and Brandon Schwartz sealed the 11-6 win for Hudson.

Hudson goalie Jordan Madden finished with 12 saves.
