The kids leg of the race drew about 75 runners. Here they are ready to start a shortened course that had plenty of challenges.

A crowd of over 460 races took the Goliath Challenge on Saturday and raised money for Feed My Starving Children. The 5K race took runners up and down the slopes, woods and fields at Badlands Sno-park.

Trinity Lutheran Church members Mark and Kim Kretschmer were the organizers of the race and led a crew that built the various obstacles on the course.

Trinity Youth kept the crowd hydrated and fed while also raising funds for the program. Two bands entertained the crowd. Other forms of amusements included several jumpy castles and hammer bell ringer games.

Look for a complete round up in the August 2 Hudson Star-Observer.
