It was a long and exhausting week of swimming for Hudson Area Swim Association athletes, coaches and families at the 2017 Minnesota State Championships last week, but it was worth it.

HASA finished ninth out of 49 teams in the final team standings. Individual High Point Awards went to Sky DuPont for third place in girls age 13-14, Evie Wood for second place in girls 11-12, and Sven Becker for first place in the boys 11-12 with a perfect score of 160.

HASA qualified five new swimmers for the Central Zones Meet — Lucy DuPont, Hugh Hanlon, Ethan Hanson, Theo Johansen and Ellie Wood — to join the seven others who already qualified — Becker, Dane Dow, DuPont, Faith Eilertson, Rhian Neitzel, Grace Rauker, Sydney Rogness and Evie Wood.

Twenty-six HASA swimmers set 33 individual and 17 relay team records.

HASA swimmers finished the long course season with swimmers representing Team Minnesota at the Central Zones Meet and Minnesota Masters at USMS Nationals Aug. 2-6, while Mitchell Whyte will be heading to the USA Swimming Junior National Meet, Aug. 9-12 in New York.

Registration for HASA's upcoming season will open in mid-August. Visit for more information about evaluation nights and registration. HASA swimmers and coaches will return to the pool in September.
