Gymnasts are giants at Green Bay tourney

The Hudson Gymnastics Club girls team recently returned from a successful meet, the Tri County Gymnastics Flip Flop, held March 9, in Green Bay.

The competition consisted of five teams from eastern Wisconsin and the Hudson Gymnastics club level 4 and 5 teams. The Hudson girls took two team second-place finishes.

The level 4 squad was led by Jacgueline Balsiger, age 8, of River Falls Elementary, with help from: Chelsea Reilly, 11, Baldwin Elementary; Taylor Beckman, 10, St. Patrick's School; Madison Rohde, 11, Hudson Middle School; and Mary McCoshen, 8, E.P. Rock Elementary. Other contributors to the Level 4 team were: Lucy Cumming, 8, North Hudson Elementary; Emily Denning, 8, Hudson Prairie Elementary; Brianna Cruz, 8, New Richmond Elementary; Elizabeth Hughes, 7, Hudson Prairie Elementary; and Karina Gilson, 6, Rock Elementary.

The level 5 team was led by Gabriele Cruz, 10, New Richmond Elementary, with assistance from: Kaitlyn Gilson, 8, Rock Elementary; Olivia Koehler, 9, North Hudson Elementary; Brianna Kubic, 9, River Falls Elementary; and Gabriella Hughes, 9, Hudson Prairie Elementary.

The teams are coached by Emily Schmitz, and the Olympic level coaches are Seaok An and Hwichul Kim.
