Raider softball sweeps ECM

Ari Schultz combined for three hits, including a homer and four RBI in both games and Maddie Karras had three hits and drove in four runs in the nightcap as the Raider softball team swept a doubleheader from Eau Claire Memorial, 6-1 and 9-6, last Tuesday in Eau Claire.

Abby Singerhouse limited Eau Claire Memorial to four hits and helped herself with a pair of hits and an RBI in the opener. Devan DuCharme contributed three hits, including a solo homer in the Raider half of the first inning, while Schultz finished with two hits and two RBI.

Erin Anderson added a hit and a run batted in and Ali Kocik had a single while Karras and Meghan Hanson each had an RBI.

Singerhouse struck out six and walked three to earn the complete game victory on the mound.

In the nightcap, Schultz homered and drove in two runs, Karras had three hits and four RBI, and Singerhouse tripled in a pair of runs in a 9-6 Raider victory.

Chelsea Walczak added two hits, two walks, two stolen bases and a run batted in and Sydney Berger had a hit and scored twice while Hanson and Maggie Whitacre each had a hit and scored a run.

Hanson picked up the win on the mound, allowing five earned runs on 11 hits while striking out three and walking one.

In this week's WIAA regional action, Hudson defeated River Falls Tuesday by a score of 5-2. They will next travel to Chippewa Falls on Thursday, May 28, for another regional game starting at 5:00 p.m.
