Golfers third in 'mini-meet'

Cassie Wurm fired a 9-hole score of 42 to earn medalist honors but no other Raider golfer broke 50 and the team finished third at a 5-team Big Rivers Conference mini-meet Thursday at the River Falls Golf Club.

Wurm won by two strokes over River Falls' Alyssa Casey, but the Wildcats had four players score in the 40s and won the team competition with a total score of 186. Eau Claire Memorial was second with 193 followed by Hudson with 198, Rice Lake with 212 and Eau Claire North with 236.

Molly Fassbinder carded the Raiders' second lowest score of the day with a 50 while Elli Anderson finished with 51 and Danni Krinke 55.

In their previous match at Mill Run Golf Course in Eau Claire Sept. 1, Wurm and Anderson both posted scores of 45, Fassbinder carded a 49 and Leisha Cory finished with 50 to give the Raiders a team total of 189, one stroke behind first-place Eau Claire Memorial.

Hudson will travel to Hillcrest Country Club in Eau Claire for another BRC mini-meet Thursday, Sept. 17.
