Mike Holmgren to be president of the Cleveland Browns

Former Packers' coach Mike Holmgren has agreed to become the new president of the Cleveland Browns.

Owner Randy Lerner announced the decision Monday, Dec. 21. He said he'll spend the rest of the week finalizing the details. Current Browns' president Mike Keenan will become the team's chief financial officer.

The 61-year-old Holmgren is expected to bring in a general manager to make personnel decisions - and he could also replace Browns' coach Eric Mangini.

But after the Browns beat Kansas City 41-to-34 on Sunday, Mangini may have improved his chances of staying.

Holmgren spent seven seasons in Green Bay as the coach of the Packers from 1992-through-'98.

He led the Pack to the Super Bowl championship in the '96 season, and the NFC title a year later.

Holmgren then spent 10 seasons in Seattle, taking the Seahawks to the Super Bowl in the 2005 campaign. His teams have gone 161 and 111.
