Gymnasts topped by Eau Claire

Amanda Baker had the Raiders' highest score in all four individual events and took third in the all-around but Hudson dropped a Big River Conference gymnastics dual meet to Eau Claire North/Memorial 138.63 to 131.35 last Tuesday in Eau Claire.

Baker finished with a total score of 34.375 to take third in the all-around, just .275 behind Eau Claire's Kendra Morgan. Nicole Nohelty of Eau Claire took first with 35.65.

Baker's best individual finish came on the balance beam, where she took second with a score of 9.05. Paige Kazak finished fourth on the beam with an 8.725 while Toria Ferrell was sixth with 8.425.

In the vault, Baker finished third with a score of 8.8 while Kazak was fourth with 8.75.

Baker placed fourth on the uneven bars with an 8.0 while Sarah Monette was the next highest Raider finisher in seventh place with a 7.525.

In the floor exercise, Baker was fifth with an 8.525, Ferrell took sixth with 8.475 and Monette finished seventh with 8.35.

Kazak finished fifth in the all-around competition with a total score of 34.375.

The Raiders will next compete in the Big Rivers Conference Tournament Friday, Feb. 12 at Meyer Middle School in River Falls beginning at 6 p.m.
