Gymnasts 4th at Chi Hi Invite

Amanda Baker won the floor exercise and finished second in the all-around to lead the Raider gymnastics team to a fourth place finish at the eight-team Chippewa Falls Invitational last Saturday, Dec. 10.

Baker edged River Falls' Riley Claude by .25 to win the floor exercise with a score of 9.25. Claude took the all-around title with a total score of 36.4 while Baker was second with 34.65.

River Falls won the team title with a score of 136.85, followed by Holmen with 134, Chippewa Falls with 127.78 and Hudson with 126.65.

Baker took third on the balance beam with a score of 8.75 and tied for fourth in the vault with 8.6 while finishing 10th on the uneven bars with 8.05.

The Raiders took three of the top seven places in the floor exercise. In addition to Baker's first place score, Olivia Dunlap finished fifth with a score of 8.8 and McKenna Daulton was seventh with 8.7. Toria Ferrell scored 7.9 on the floor while Brooke Miller scored 7.25.

Dunlap finished tenth in the vault with an 8.25 while Maddy Rohde contributed a score of 8.05, Daulton had a 7.85 and Ferrell had a 7.7.

On the balance beam, Kirstin Strom scored a 7.575, Dunlap had a 7.5, Miller finished with a 7.2 and Rohde had a 6.175. Daulton scored 6.8 on the uneven bars, Rohde had a 6.75, Miller scored 6.625 and Dunlap had 6.5.

The Raiders will return to Chippewa Falls for a Big Rivers Conference dual meet this Thursday, Dec. 15, at 6:30 p.m.
