WIAA hockey playoffs: Raider boys win, girls lose

The Hudson High School boys' hockey team defeated Amery, 6-1, in a WIAA Regional final game Thursday night at Gornick Arena while the Raider girls saw their season come to an end with a 6-2 loss to Eau Claire/Altoona in Eau Claire.

The third-seeded Raider boys advance to the sectional semifinals to face No. 2 seed New Richmond Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. in New Richmond. The Tigers were 4-0 winners over Somerset Thursday night.

In other regional hockey playoff action, Superior downed River Falls, 12-1, in a boys' regional final in Superior and will host Siren in Tuesday's other sectional semifinal.

In girls' action, the St. Croix Valley Fusion defeated Superior, 8-1, and will play Eau Claire/Altoona Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Baldwin.
