Hudson wrestler wins gold in Spain

Hudson High School freshman wrestler Logan Hatch recently trained with Olympic head Greco Coach Matt Lindland. The journey eventually led him to wrestle in Spain where he won a gold medal.

Hatch was invited to attend a camp by Lucas Stedlt operator of Combat Wrestling Club in southwest Wisconsin. Lucas invited around 40 athletes to attend his three-day camp in March with Olympic Coach Lindland and the possible opportunity to be invited to compete and train in Murcia, Spain with Team USA.

Hatch was invited and one of six wrestlers to make up Team USA at the Luchas Olimpicas. An international competition which included 13 countries and was held at CAR Infantana Cristina in Los Narejos, Murcia Spain.

Hatch earned a gold medal as a Cadet at the event. His first match was a medical injury forfeit. his next match he won by a technical fall over his Portuguese opponent 12-4. He then pinned another Portuguese opponent for a win. In his final match he pinned his Spanish opponent in the second period to seal his first place victory.

Earlier this week, Hatch trained at the CAR International facility.
